What to Do If You Suspect Unauthorized Access to Your BrandLife Account

Your BrandLife account contains valuable assets, projects, and brand information. If you ever suspect that someone else may have gained access to your account without permission, it’s important to act quickly to secure your data. This guide will walk you through the steps to take immediately and how to prevent it from happening again.

Signs of Unauthorized Access

You may suspect unauthorized access if you notice:

  • Unrecognized logins or devices in your account activity.
  • Changes to files, folders, or brand assets that you didn’t make.
  • New users or roles added to your workspace that you didn’t invite.
  • Emails from BrandLife about password changes, 2FA codes, or logins that you didn’t initiate.
  • Missing, deleted, or altered content.

Step 1: Reset Your Password Immediately

  1. Go to the BrandLife login page and click “Forgot password?”.
  2. Enter your email address and follow the reset link sent to you.
  3. Create a strong, unique password (at least 12 characters, mixing letters, numbers, and symbols).
  4. Avoid reusing old passwords or ones used on other accounts.
💡 Tip: Use a password manager to create and store strong, unique passwords securely.

Step 2: Enable or Re-Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

If you haven’t already, set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for an extra layer of security:

  1. Log in and go to Profile > Security Settings.
  2. Under Two-Factor Authentication, select Enable 2FA.
  3. Choose your method:
    • Authenticator app (recommended)
    • SMS code
  4. Complete the setup and confirm that codes are working.
  5. Save your backup codes in case you lose your device.

Step 3: Review Account Activity and Sessions

  • Check your recent login history (location, device, and IP if available).
  • Log out of all active sessions by selecting “Sign out of all devices” in your profile security settings.
  • Take note of any suspicious login attempts.

Step 4: Review Users and Permissions in Your Workspace

If you’re a workspace admin:

  1. Go to Admin Settings > Users & Permissions.
  2. Review the list of users.
  3. Remove any accounts you don’t recognize.
  4. Adjust roles and permissions to ensure only authorized team members have access.

Step 5: Secure Your Email Account

Because your BrandLife account is linked to your email:

  • Update your email password.
  • Enable 2FA on your email account.
  • Review any recent email activity for suspicious logins or forwards.

Step 6: Contact BrandLife Support

If you suspect unauthorized access, contact our support team immediately so we can investigate:

  • Use the Help widget in your dashboard
  • Or email us at support@brandlife.io with:
    • The email linked to your BrandLife account
    • A description of the suspicious activity
    • Any timestamps or details you noticed

We’ll work with you to secure your account, review suspicious activity, and restore missing content where possible.

Preventing Future Unauthorized Access

  • Always use unique, strong passwords.
  • Enable 2FA for all account members.
  • Review your user roles and permissions regularly.
  • Be cautious of phishing emails asking for your login details.
  • Immediately update your credentials if your device is lost or stolen.

Urgent Note

If sensitive company assets may have been accessed, notify your team administrator or security lead immediately. They may need to update security protocols beyond BrandLife (e.g., file sharing restrictions, vendor access, or system monitoring).
